The Anchor Inn, Hillfarrance
Where a warm welcome awaits
FAQ
Are you dog friendly?
We all love dogs at the Anchor and have many four legged friends between us.Â
However we appreciate that some people don't (we know - madness right!???). This is why we designate the bar tables to welcome our four-legged friends. If you are booking a table and would like to bring your dog, please make a note of this on your booking, or let us know when you call, as we have limited availability. That way we can make sure we book you a table in the right place and you won't be disappointed when you arrive. We also ask that you keep your dog on a lead and that they sit under or as close to your table as possible, so the team aren't hopping over tripping hazards while trying to serve.
Do you cater for Gluten Free / Vegan / Dairy Free?
Everything we serve at the Anchor is homemade and the team have a great deal of knowledge about our menu. We have masses of choice and when planning our menu we will always think through how our dishes can be adapted to be gluten free, dairy free or vegan. We will always have a gluten free / dairy free homemade dessert, as well as Styles dairy free ice creams and sorbets.
Do you have disabled facilities?
The Anchor is a very old building, built in 1737 and with varying floor levels.  The good news is, that even though the Anchor dining areas are on two levels, both are accessible via ground floor, so easily accessed via a wheelchair. Our toilets have two steps up to them, so unfortunately aren't easily accessible for people with mobility issues. We do have disabled facilities in one of our ground floor accommodation rooms, which can be used if the room is vacant, or can be included in an events package if booking for a large party/ event. We have a wheelchair ramp that can be used when required. This is something that we are always working on improving. Please give us a call, we will be happy to talk through what we can do. If you are booking with a wheelchair or mobility issue, let us know and we will make sure you are on a table that will make your access very easy.
We're coming to celebrate, can we bring bits and bobs?
You are very welcome to bring balloons with you. The best kind are those filled with helium that can be popped on the table, as there aren't many places to put others. We ask you not to bring table confetti, as sadly this stains the tables when wet - even the silver! We also obviously don't allow decorations  to be stuck to our freshly painted walls! Let us know in advance if you're celebrating and we can prepare a birthday/celebration plate for the special someone's dessert plate. Due to allergens and the need to reduce anything coming in to the kitchen that is not from a vetted supplier, we don't allow birthday cakes to be brought in. However our celebration plates always go down a treat!
Are you family friendly?
Absolutely! in fact we've won awards for it! Again, make a note on your booking if there are children in your party and we'll make sure we will put you on a table where you feel most comfortable. We also supply lego and colouring in for little ones. Our children's menu is full of homemade dishes that are tried and tested on our own little people to make sure they go down well!
